Contaminated sites cleaning based on bio-cleaning methods
We carry out cleaning work on contaminated sites. In order, for soil cleaning we are using phytoremediation and biodegradation technologies.
Phytocleaning method
Phytocleaning technology is based on the unique properties of plants to collect pollutants, promote their degradation or transformation. This technology is used for final soil cleaning and restoration of soil structure and viability. With the application of phytoremediation technology, substances such as: chlorinated hydrocarbons, petroleum products, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, heavy metals, phenols, radionuclides, pesticides, etc. can be removed.
In addition, phyto-cleaning is a cheap alternative to expensive traditional cleaning methods. The cleaning is environmentally friendly, does not disturb the landscape, does not change the natural physical, chemical and biological properties of the cleaning material and does not use any additional measures that may have a negative impact.
Advantages of phytoremediation:
unnecessary excavation and transportation of soil (which causes some problems in the built- up area);
no need for special cleaning areas;
low labor, machinery and energy costs;
non-destructive structure of soil and landscape;
there is no need to deal with further use of excavated and cleaned soil.
Biodegradation method
Biodegradation is the process by which local or co-introduced microorganisms break down organic compounds through metabolic pathways and convert them into biomass, intermediates or end products such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and inorganic salts.
Small amounts of such organic compounds are usually in the cleaning soil itself. However, this is not enough to deal with the degradation of pollutants. These natural microbiological processes are accelerated by the use of specially selected strains of microorganisms which are distributed and lawfully used by our company. The biological products we offer help to significantly increase the concentration of microorganisms oxidizing organic compounds in the cleaning soil and to increase the efficiency of biological treatment.
By applying the biodegradation method, organic compounds such as petroleum products, pesticides, multi-cyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, etc. can be removed from contaminated soil. This cleaning of contaminated soil does not require a lot of investment, labor or energy.
Damaged soil can be cleaned in two ways. This includes in-situ cleaning when contaminated soil is excavated and removed for cleaning to specially equipped biodegradation sites, and in-situ cleaning of contaminated soil on site.
